September 17 Update

It was a great night of racing at Lonesome Pine Raceway last Saturday, September 17. After several weeks off, I finally got to get back in my little pink car to do some racing.

The day started off fairly well and I continued to pick up speed throughout practice. It is definitely a HUGE adjustment to go from sports cars to stock cars. Braking played a key role in my speed this past Saturday. However, I am getting back into the swing of things now and will continue to improve next race.

I qualified 6th and ended up finishing right where I started. The car pushed throughout the whole race, but I think we now know what to do to fix it and should be good to go for the race at LPR in two weeks (October 1). I did have a little fender bender with the #51 of Willie Gibson. I was racing hard with him and the #44 car of Jody Bostic whenever it happened. Just “one of them racing deals”. Couldn’t help but dent up the hood a little. However, no one spun out and the race continued on.

I am looking forward to practicing on Thursday, September 29 and racing on Saturday, October 1. Hopefully, I will have a good finish and be able to bring home my first win of the season!

Thanks again to my Dad, Paul Shull and my uncle Steve for a great weekend of racing. I couldn’t do it without you all!
